What are Sustainable Development Goals?
The Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by the countries of the world in 2015 and establish social, environmental and economic targets to help the world become a more equitable, peaceful, healthy and prosperous place to live. The goals are indivisible - progress on one requires progress on the others - so meeting the goals to end hunger and improve health requires progress on the goal on climate action. Likewise making progress on achieving the goal to protect the oceans requires action on the goal to reduce consumption and waste.
Countries, communities and businesses around the world are working to achieve the SDGs by 2030. They provide a really useful framework for thinking about sustainability and the actions you can take in your school, business, club or home.
